1/8/2022 It’s time for our January club meeting.

We got a trail back by lady luck.

Special thanks to all of you who called your legislators urging their support for this bill. On Friday, Governor Evers signed SB 364/AB 366 into law as Wisconsin Act 103. This now makes it legal to travel in either direction at night within 40 feet of a roadway as long as it is on a designated and marked snowmobile trail. It also requires a person operating a snowmobile to dim their headlights when within 500 feet of another vehicle and adopts updated stationary sound test procedures.
Thank you to the entire AWSC legislative team and everyone who contacted their Legislators asking for their support. And especially the State Legislators who sponsored the bill and helped make this happen.

Snow Hot Line- remember the Racine County Snow Line (262) 554-0133 is the ONLY source snowmobilers should trust when seeking to find out if the trails of Racine County are opened or closed. The snow line will only change once a day.

Winterfest-Event is on Jan 22, 2022. Boys and Toys band has been booked
for Winterfest. Winterfest raffle ticket sales are happening now.

Trail Report
Brush is cleaned up. Signs are marked on the trails. Thanks to all who helped with this.

New Business
There are about 130 raffle tickets left to hand out for sale. Sell sell sell!

Club Trip
For our club trip this year, we will be going back to the boulder bear motor lodge in Boulder Junction Wisconsin. We will be there Feb 3rd - 7th. Less for people that don't want that many days. Please call for room availability. The number for boulder bear motor lodge is (715) 385-2662. Also, Boulder Junction motor lodge may have some rooms available.

It’s time for our November club meeting.

Alliance Report

We will be marking trail intersections with a 3 digit sign. Di-bond signs will be made. There are currently 54 intersections in our county. Katie will assign the numbers for the intersections. This is a multi-year project. Trails will stay color coded for 2021-2022. The snow line will be updated at 24 hour intervals when the trails are open.
Jim McBryde is able to assist on any GPS tracker issues. We have many clubs sending members to the workshop for this.

Winterfest-Event is on Jan 22, 2022. Boys and Toys band has been booked
for Winterfest.

Grove SnoHawks will offer Snowmobile Safety courses at Tin Can Saloon on Nov.
30th and Dec. 4th. Contact the SnoHawks to sign up.
Tichigan will offer Snowmobile Safety courses on Dec. 7th and Dec. 11th. Sign up on gowild.wi.gov
Wind Lake will offer Snowmobile Safety courses on Dec. 6th, Dec. 9th and Dec.11th at the Tichigan Fire Dept. Contact the Wind Lake/North Cape Drifters to sign up.

Trail Report

The Gps unit showed up and has been installed. We are looking at a new section of trail west of hwy H south across hwy G to the RR tracks, east side. Need to clear brush off the trails.

New Business

We are getting 750 tickets for the raffle this year. The drawing will be on Saturday April 9th, 2022. Tickets will be done next week for our raffle. Our raffle license has been renewed.
The November 14th meeting will be held at Jeff Vail’s shop. Please bring your own beverages and a dish to pass. The club will buy ham and rolls.
The club will have a Christmas party this year on Saturday Dec 11th. Thersa, Christine, and Lisa are on the Christmas committee. Cost per person to be determined for food. More information to come.

We have eight rooms blocked off at the boulder bear motor lodge. Two have been taken by myself and Theresa, so we are down to six. They will hold them until Dec 1st. All are 2 queen beds. There is another club there that weekend also and that is why there are not many rooms available right now. If the other club does not book all of their rooms, more rooms could become available on Dec 2nd. The number for boulder bear motor lodge is (715) 385-2662.

Our highway cleanup will be Saturday Oct 23rd. Meet at 8:00 am at the Husher Pub. 9002 6 Mile Road Downtown Husher Lunch and drinks will be provided after the cleanup.

Kaos fund raiser. We need people that have items to donate for a basket.

It’s time for our first club meeting of the season!

Trail Report
We need to get the new GPS into our groomer so we get reimbursed this coming season. They did general maintenance and repair on our groomer over the summer.

We will be discussing our annual raffle at the next meeting along with other business.

It’s time for our March club meeting!
Christine Vogt is taking care of the raffle tickets. She is currently out of tickets. Please bring your money and sold tickets to the raffle on March 13th.

Alliance Report
Recently, the Governor’s Snowmobile Recreation Council (SRC) recommended making the Groomer Tracking Systems (GTS) groomer trackers mandatory in all groomers used on funded trails by November 1, 2021.

Trail Report
The trails this year were awesome.

New Business
We voted a second time to remove the lifetime membership for those 62+ years old with two years in the club. Current members with lifetime memberships will be grandfathered in. This was the second of three votes. The third vote will be at our next meeting. We bought a new groomer for 42,000 which was 10,000 less than the asking price. We were able to sell our old groomer for 9,000. We have voted to end club sponsored drinks at our meetings until our accounts can be replenished. We will still use the tractor for grooming in low snow conditions. We need to check into insurance and also a tank of diesel fuel for the groomer.

March 13th Raffle
The drawing is at 6:00 pm at Burgey’s Pub and Prime. 8619 US Highway 41, Caledonia, WI 53108. Please come early as we will be doing a 50/50 raffle that night also and possibly other raffles.

March 14th meeting
It’s that time again, clean out your closets and garage because it’s our annual White Elephant auction. Bring these items to the meeting and we’ll put them up for aution….one man’s trash is another man’s treasure! Please round out any items you have that can be auctioned off at the meeting. We will also be taking nominations for next year’s open offices. Bring a non-perishable food item if you like. Someone will be taking this to the food bank.
